3 Positive Anchors

Okay, so what are the three positive “Grounded In anchors? We need to be:

1. Grounded in Calm Focus
2. Grounded in Thoughtful Response
3. Grounded in Regard for Others

I’ll explain each of these in greater detail in future posts. But consider this: we do not inherently have these three positive anchor traits. They need to be cultivated. Like a gardener who carefully oversees the growing vegetables, we must enhance the good things that are necessary for these traits to grow and bloom in us. And just as a gardener pulls weeds and kills insects, we must avoid allowing behaviors or thoughts that would limit the effectiveness of our three positive anchors.

Regardless of whether we are owners/entrepreneurs or are working to advance into management or ownership positions, we will be called on to exhibit strategic leadership, and to make good decisions, especially in emergencies or disasters. But we are not born leaders, and we don’t instinctively know how to make good decisions. Gaining experience through effort and trial, learning from our mistakes and finding/keeping good friends and mentors will provide the fertile ground in which the three “Grounded In anchors” traits can blossom. When we have the positive anchors within us and are ready and willing to use them appropriately, they will allow us to exhibit strategic leadership and make good decisions in a crisis.
